Arctic Char and Sea Trout


Rules

In the delta area of the river, fishing is allowed using fly and/or spinners and lures.
Beat 2, 3, 4 and 5 are fly fishing only using flies with one or two hooks and using a fly rod with a fly reel. (Please note that beat 2 and 3 have also been made a fly only beats)

Fishing hours:

1. april-15. may: 8-14 og 15-21.
21. june-10. august: 7-13 og 16-22.
11. august-15. sept: 7-13 og 15-21.
16. sept-10. okt: 8-13 og 15-20.

All bait fishing using worms and other organic bait is strictly prohibited in all beats of the river.

You are obligated to release ALL Arctic Char.

Each rod is allowed to keep 2 Brown trout’s/Sea trout’s under 60cm in all beats outside of the spring fishing season.

During the spring fishing season from 1. April - 15. May you are obligated to release all fish caught on beat 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Please note that during the spring fishing season from 1. April - 15. May, you are only allowed to fish using a fly on beats 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Fishing in all side rivers of Eyjafjarðará is now permitted apart from Torfufellsá river above the bridge. Fishing above the sign above the Tjaldbakki pool is prohibited (beat ends where the sign is by the road).


Accommodation

Eyjafjarðará doesn't have a fishing lodge but you'll find many options for lodging and accommodation in the Eyjafjarðarsveit area.


Other

Anglers are asked to follow trails marked specifically and not drive at other points to the river and respect closure signs where applicable. Close gates and respect the environment.


Terms

You are obligated to register all caught fish in our online fishing logbook after each shift/day of fishing, the logbook can be found at www.eyjafjardara.is
